Katherine Rich has been involved in the Arabian Horse Industry her entire life. The third generation of her family’s business, Green
Acres Ranch, Inc., Katherine continues to carry the torch. Both her mother and father grew up involved with showing, breeding
and training Arabian horses.
Katherine’s grandparents were introduced to the beautiful breed of horse in the late 1950’s
and soon became heavily involved in all facets of the Arabian horse world. The family’s focus on breeding pure Crabbet Arabians,
led to a multitude of athletic, chestnut-colored horses that excelled in Regional and National shows.
Another trait Katherine has earned from her mother is the love for teaching people of all ages how to ride and show. Katherine
is very proud of every student and truly enjoys taking part in their learning process. Whether it’s achieving their personal riding
goals at home or training hard for a national competition, it’s extremely gratifying. “Being a National Champion is the most
exhilarating emotional experience that is never forgotten; showing somebody else how to achieve that… is priceless.”
Following in her mother’s footsteps, Katherine is a horse trainer, exhibitor and breeder, now specializing in Half-Arabian crosses. The progeny by her Dutch Harness stallion out of beautiful Crabbet mares are outstanding. Every foal exhibits the elegance and
refinement of the Arabian coupled with the strength and motion of the Dutch Harness horse.
Katherine is a student at the University of Redlands and in May of 2010 will graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management. On the flip side of training, Katherine enjoys being a student and will continue on to graduate school for a Masters in Education.
As if a full-time career and a full-time school curriculum isn’t enough to fill her day, Katherine owns
and shows two Dutch Warmblood dressage horses. She has earned two National Championships from the United States Dressage Federation
(USDF), two Reserve National Championships and a USDF Bronze medal.
Katherine is eager to share her knowledge and passion for the horse industry with her long-standing customers at Green Acres Ranch and new clients alike.
