Horse Shows

Green Acres Ranch will host two Arabian Community Shows in 2010 - April 25th & October 24th! These shows allow new riders to enter the show world and more experienced riders to hone their skills for bigger shows. Below is the April 25th Class List and Registration form for download along with some pictures from past shows.

Initiated in 1993, Youth Nationals has been AHA's premier youth event. Family members accompany the young competitors for a week of competition and fun-filled activities. Competition in English, western, side saddle, native costume, working cow, dressage, and hunter disciplines combined with leadership training, games, contests, parades and dance parties make this junior rider event one of the best in the nation. This year's theme was Christmas in July!

One of the most anticipated horse shows for all horsemen comes once a year in Scottsdale, Arizona. The Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show attracts over 2,500 of the world's best Arabian and Half-Arabian horses. This year the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show celebrated its 54th birthday and was held the week of February 12-22, 2009.

Two of our own from Green Acres Ranch, Whitney Campbell and Alana Hansen, got to feel the excitement of being a Scottsdale winner several times over…

Whitney Campbell, a 9yr. old from Murrieta, Ca, who has been training at Green Acres with Katherine Rich for four years truly exhibited that hard work pays off! Whitney was the Unanimous Champion in the Country English Pleasure walk/trot and Saddle Seat Equitation walk/trot. She also garnered first place finishes in Country English Pleasure walk/trot, Intro dressage test A and Intro dressage test B (with the two highest dressage scores of the show); all aboard her amazing horses Wyman Oaks Joey +// and Stoli+. Whitney’s other accomplishments at Scottsdale 2009 include, two second place finishes with Stoli+ in Hunter Pleasure walk/trot and Hunter-seat Equitation walk/trot as well as a Top Ten in Showmanship.

Alana Hansen, a 16yr. old from Temecula, Ca, was elated with her accomplishments at Scottsdale for her first time of competing at the spectacular show. Alana was aboard Wyman Oaks Joey+// and competed in Country English Pleasure JTR 14-17, Show hack JTR, and Native Costume JTR. Alana placed in all classes respectively and earned her first Scottsdale Top Ten in ½ Arabian Show hack JTR!

Both girls exhibited top notch sportsmanship and definitely kicked off the 2009 show season with a bang! Good luck girls on your road to Youth Nationals in July.
