Horse Training

"I’ve been involved in the horse industry my entire life (and that’s a long time). After graduating from the University of California Berkeley, I began working for my parents who owned Green Acres. I’ve been here ever since!

I am a licensed USEF Judge with a card for Arabians/Half Arabians and a member of the Education/Evaluation Committee for all Arabian Judges. I am the immediate past director of the Arabian Horse Association's Region 1, have just completed four years in that position. I derive my livelihood from the horse industry and it is with close attention that I watch over it.

My passion (and job) other than the managing of Green Acres is to teach children about horses. We, at Green Acres, have developed a strong horsemanship program that not only teaches individuals to ride a horse but also about all aspects of the care of a horse. An individual graduating from our “youth work program” should be able to get a job anywhere in the country that has to do with riding and caring for horses. I am extremely proud of our program and I am continually refining and updating the skills and information that is taught at Green Acres Ranch."

For over 10 years, Marika has been actively involved in the horse world. Having worked under some of the best trainers in the industry, Marika has gained a vast array of knowledge and after years of teaching students she is able to simply yet effectively pass this expertise on to her students.

Marika specializes in all types of western training including reining, cowboy dressage, and trail.
