Western Training / Reining / Working Cow Horse
Beginners Welcome. Kids and Adults of all ages.
At Green Acres Ranch, we have several award winning trainers on site:
"I’ve been involved in the horse industry my entire life (and that’s a long time). After graduating from the University of California Berkeley, I began working for my parents who owned Green Acres. I’ve been here ever since!
I am a licensed USEF Judge with a card for Arabians/Half Arabians and a member of the Education/Evaluation Committee for all Arabian Judges. I am the immediate past director of the Arabian Horse Association's Region 1, have just completed four years in that position. I derive my livelihood from the horse industry and it is with close attention that I watch over it.
My passion (and job) other than the managing of Green Acres is to teach children about horses. We, at Green Acres, have developed a strong horsemanship program that not only teaches individuals to ride a horse but also about all aspects of the care of a horse. An individual graduating from our “youth work program” should be able to get a job anywhere in the country that has to do with riding and caring for horses. I am extremely proud of our program and I am continually refining and updating the skills and information that is taught at Green Acres Ranch."

Katherine Rich has been involved in the Arabian Horse Industry her entire life. The third generation of her family’s business, Green Acres Ranch, Inc., Katherine continues to carry the torch. Both her mother and father grew up involved with showing, breeding and training Arabian horses.
Katherine’s grandparents were introduced to the beautiful breed of horse in the late 1950’s and soon became heavily involved in all facets of the Arabian horse world. The family’s focus on breeding pure Crabbet Arabians, led to a multitude of athletic, chestnut-colored horses that excelled in Regional and National shows.
